New Bajaj Discover 135 DTS-i Range

Bajaj has revamped its total discover range with the features and design cues last shown in Auto Expo in New Delhi. It now gets an all new aggressive front fairing, race bred tank mounted spoilers with integrated indicators. The new discover also gets new digital console like its bigger sister Pulsar with an anlogue tachometer flanked by a digital speedometer and odometer.

The 135cc engine remains unchanged with maximum power of 13.1PS at 8500rpm and a maximum torque of 11.88Nm at 6500rpm. These are better figures than the discontinued 135cc Hero Honda’s Ambition. Similar to Bajaj’s other offerings, Discover 135cc engine features proven TRICS, DTSi and ExhausTEC technologies which make them special. Transmission continues to be through the same four-speed gearbox.

New features added in Discover 135:

1) Racer breed tank mounted spoilers with integrated indicators
2) Striking new dual tone graphics
3) Digital speedometer with tachometer and reserve fuel indicator
4) All new aggressive front fairing
5) Nitrox Suspension & front disc brake (Sports version only)
6) Wider rear tyre and racing wheel stripes (Sports version only)

Bajaj has launched three models of Discover 135:

1. Discover Sports
2. Discover Electric Start
3. Discover Kick Start.

The new variants are priced between Rs. 46,248 and Rs. 51,895 Ex-Showroom Delhi.

New TVS Apache RTR160 Refresh

The Apache RTR 160 has been upgraded with visual changes like the Apache Fi and becomes Apache RTR 160 Refresh. It features a naked chain cover, rear disk brake, tank cowl like in the Bajaj Pulsar 200 and a serrated design stickers (instead of the striped ones found on the RTR 160) which runs across the length of the bike.

It is powered by a 159.7cc engine which develops maximum power of 15.2bhp at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.1Nm at 6000 rpm. The new engine is not just an overbore of the Apache’s 150cc engine. The engine’s stroke was cut down to 52.9 mm and then the bore grew to 62 mm.

New Harley Davidson Bikes

Harley-Davidson, the cult american bike manufacturer has launched two brand new bikes for 2009 alongwith revisions in the existing model range. The new VRSCF V-Rod muscle is based on the past VR series but has a new rear fender design, dual side exhasut pipes along with revised bodywork to accomodate the fat 240 mm rear tire.

The second new model is a trike christened the Tri Glide, which comes with air suspension at the back and a new rear differential. With Tri Glide, H-D wants to capture the growing trend for these motorcycles in the USA. The revisions for the exisiting models include new revised, stiffer frame for the 2009 touring range. The new Duna and Sportster models feature a new front fender which follows the profile of the front tire more closely, thereby improving looks.
